Meet The Publisher
Greetings! Thanks for visiting our website and I hope you will visit us again periodically to check out our new titles as they are released.
I founded ‘N Gratitude Publishing company quite unexpectedly in 2009 as I neared completion of my first book in the Return of the African Diaspora series, A Mother for Celeste. As I began researching the publishing industry to see where I might fit in, I discovered no options – at least not for an emerging Indy author such as myself. I was definitely uninterested in paying the costly fees being charged by “vanity” presses at the time so I continued my research and eventually found a step-by-step guide that laid out the entire publishing process from A to Z. Being the adventurous spirit that I am I decided to go for it, and ‘N Gratitude Publishing Company was launched as a result.
My quest to learn what I was required to know about the business was aided by my past experience in the IT industry, namely a 15+ year career as a software quality assurance/business analyst. As such, I was routinely required to learn functionality of software that was being developed quickly, so I could evaluate its functionality within project timeframes. So it wasn’t too much of a stretch for me to learn the various applications I needed to know to publish a book, relying heavily on the comprehensive course instruction available at Lynda.com. I also have held positions during my career that required the development and expansion of public relations, data quality, writing, account management, operational management skills, and other traits required for running a publishing company and to create basic marketing materials for my title after it was released. If you would like to know more about my prior professional experience, you can find that here.
Once I had successfully released my first book, I decided I would venture out and share what I had learned to help other aspiring authors reach their goals. I offer personalized services and the books released by ‘N Gratitude Publishing receive the same level of attention and high quality standards as my own for worldwide distribution. Although we still offer only minimal marketing services, the generous nature of our services fees and the careful attention given to book projects we take on makes ‘N Gratitude Publishing Company a great opportunity for the focused author. If you have the skills and the ambition to develop your own plan for marketing your book – through book signings, online promotions, your website, personal bookstore appearances, and other creative means we may be the publishing company for you.
With peace, blessings, and in gratitude,
Linda P. Samuel, Publisher
