I have had a varied professional career, and over the years I have developed skills and experience that I was able to draw on after I started ‘N Gratitude Publishing Company and became its publisher. Some of this experience is listed below:
Administrative / Protocol / Travel / Operations Management
- More than 15+ years management experience in positions of mid-to-high levels of responsibility in political, business and technical environments. I have also spent time in-between working as an administrative /executive /personal assistant and developed general business knowledge, as well as medium to high-level data processing skills from these jobs. Past employers/clients include: Purdue Pharma, Roche Labs, Digital Communications, Ltd., U.S. Army Environmental Policy Institute and Tuskegee University.
- 14 years experience as a software Validation/ Quality Assurance/ Business Analyst and software tester, working on new release certifications, upgrades and maintenance releases, as well as localization, data separation and data migration projects. Employers/clients include: IMS Health, Siebel Systems, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, UCB Pharma, and the American Cancer Society National Headquarters.
Other experience, not directly related to the publishing industry, includes serving as Legislative Information Specialist for the U.S. House of Representatives (function now consolidated into the Legislative Information Management System (LIMS); Staff Assistant to U.S. Congressman John Lewis, volunteer/ staff positions as domestic violence support group facilitator/ evening shelter manager, and welfare case worker.
